Aero-Graph

Your all in one engine monitor

Aero Graph can show up to eight sensor readings at a time, in the space of a standard gauge. Aero Graph monitors your ECU’s sensor readings plus oil pressure, oil temperature and fuel pressure and can interrupt its display to switch to a warning message if you run into an unsafe condition such as overheating, leaning out and other warnings. Fits in a standard 52 mm (~2”) gauge cutout, and measures 70 mm (2 3/4″) outer diameter.

  • MAP (Manifold Air Pressure)
  • RPM
  • CLT (Coolant temperature)
  • TPS
  • IAT or MAT (Intake Air temperature)
  • Ignition timing
  • AFR (Air Fuel Ratio)
  • AFR Target

Configure your Aero Graph engine monitor over a Wi-Fi connection with smartphone, tablet or laptop. Since Aero Graph is CAN bus, multiple units can be used to display more information at the same time.

Instruments options for AM Series Engines

Many Options:

Minimum Required:
In an EAB aircraft the instruments required are up to the builder but we recommend at least a tach, coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel pressure and voltage.

The AM series engines have two analog outputs available to the installer, coolant temperature and tach pulse. When shipped the ECU provides 2 pulses per revolution, same as a standard 4-cylinder automotive engine tachometer requires. The number of pulses can be changed if required.

The AM series engine ECU has all of the data measured and calculated by the ECU available on both a CAN bus and RS-232 (USB using an adapter). What is not measured by the ECU is oil pressure, fuel pressure and oil temperature. The protocol for CAN bus and RS-232/USB is available by request. This protocol may or may not be compatible with the protocols used by the various glass panel EIS companies.

Some of the data that is available on the CAN bus and RS-232/USB:

  • MAP (Manifold Air Pressure)
  • RPM
  • CLT (Coolant temperature)
  • TPS
  • IAT or MAT (Intake Air temperature)
  • Ignition timing
  • AFR (Air Fuel Ratio)
  • AFR Target
  • EGO Correction
  • Battery voltage
  • Fuel flow

We also offer the all in one Aero-Graph engine instrument. It connects to the CAN bus and also connects to 3 additional analog inputs. We use these 3 analog inputs to measure oil pressure, oil temperature and fuel pressure. Not only does the Aero-Graph allow the display of the engine information and provide settable alarms it also puts the data from the 3 analog inputs onto the CAN bus so that other CAN bus instruments can display the added information.

So even if the glass panel EIS is protocol compatible you will still either need 3 analog inputs (oil pressure, fuel pressure and oil temperature) or need to add the Aero-Graph to provide these 3 onto the CAN bus. Note that multiple CAN bus units can be used together on the same bus so you can use multiple Aero-Graph, glass panel EIS, etc. together

Of course, you always have the option to just use the Aero-Graph alone or the glass panel EIS with their sensors (except tach drive and coolant temperature) and this has been done for before.
